Helping Christian online business owners create success, a positive mindset & lifestyle

The Laptop Entrepreneur Revolution

Info publishing has been around since forever it seems. When I first started the internet was just taking off properly but there wasn’t anything like we have today.

The revolution started back in the late 1990’s with the way people did business. Thanks to the internet and new technologies that have mushroomed from then such as e-mail, search engines, video streaming, webinars and social media, people can now do business all over the world without leaving their homes.
So now entrepreneurs still in their 20, 30’s and older are setting up home based Internet businesses that they run from home and in their spare time bringing in $5,000 to $30,000 a month.

It’s perfectly OK to¬† want more. More money, more time, more freedom and above all the ability to give more to others. However, the reality is, that before you can help others, you must first help yourself. That is exactly what this book is going to help you do.

Fixed Mindset

According to psychologist Carol Dweek, people with fixed mindsets believe their skills and talents to be based on inherent character, intelligence and creative ability. This is set in stone and they can’t be changed. If you succeed, people attribute your success to something with which you were born.

So what do you do? You can stay in your comfort zone and avoid failure at all costs and not even try to change. As a result, failure defines you OR you can change your mindset here and now, decide to get out of your comfort zone and go about changing the position you’re in at the moment.

In his book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, the author Robert Kiyosaki explains that to escape the rat race you need to spend less time than you earn and invest the difference in buying income – producing assets i.e. shares or rental properties. The goal is to eventually have the income from your assets replace your earnings from your job. That’s how you achieve financial freedom he explains.

Internet marketing and especially Information Publishing is the same concept.
Thankfully it doesn’t cost much to set up and when you compare the costs of running a brick-and-mortar business to those of an internet business, the differences are massive!
You can start small and expand as your profits start rolling in to the extent of outsourcing everything and enjoying the financial freedom.

Imagine having a business that…

  • Doesn’t cost much to set up
  • You don’t need staff to run initially
  • You don’t need an office
  • You can run from home or anywhere in the world that has an internet connection.
  • Other people sell your products in exchange for a small commission (affiliates)

Other benefits of becoming an Info Publishing entrepreneur

  • Not having a boss! Eventually when your income exceeds your salary, you can fire your boss!
  • No more annoying co-workers or office politics.
  • You can be a stay-at-home mum or dad. No need for a nanny or nurseries AND you get to see you kids grow up.
  • You get to spend more time with your family and friends if you wish.
  • No more commuting, getting stuck in traffic, wasting hours every day and spending a fortune on petrol.
  • You can give yourself a pay rise each month just by adding another product. Take another holiday if you want.

Ever since Covid 19 hit the world and businesses went into lockdown, more and more people are working from home. Unfortunately not everyone has the space to turn their small apartment into an office. Not everyone wants to be cooped up working for someone else.

Also bosses are starting to realise that they don’t need a huge workforce like they did before so redundancies are becoming more frequent now. Do you want to be in that position or wondering if you’ll be next?

Discover Your ‘Why’?

When I first started my Internet business in the late 90’s, everything took so much longer and there was nothing like there is today. No eBay, no Google, no Facebook, YouTube or PayPal and if you had asked me then why I wanted to start an online business, my answer would have been to make more money so I could do more fun things in life, have more time for my family and to give them a great lifestyle. So my primary ‘why’ was to make huge amounts of money. Now it is something different.

Not everyone wants huge amounts of money though. Some people in this business just want a little bit extra to bump up their income. Funnily enough there are people who DO enjoy their jobs. Other people want to have extra money to save for retirement or to have that ‘Round-the-world’ cruise. Every person has their own ‘why’s.’
Unfortunately when I first started I wasn’t making the money I was wanting to make. In fact I was a complete failure.
Nobody told me that it would be difficult. All I had seen were the ‘gurus’ at the time showing their lifestyle and pitching their products as the one to make the money and dreams come true.

To become a success and have your dreams come true, you must know what you want to achieve and, more importantly, why.
You will hear and see a lot of push button sellers tell you as they did me, that they’ve got the greatest program to make you money online. However starting and growing an online business profitably isn’t always easy. In fact, at times, it can be challenging and tough.

It’s during these times, that you have to remember your ‘why’. This is what keeps you going and makes you determined to push forward and overcome the obstacles. If need be, make up a vision board of your ‘why’s’ and keep it somewhere you’ll see it everyday.

Once you’ve discovered your why, you can unlock your ability and shift your mindset to become a success and fulfil your dreams. However to get there, you must know the main reason or reasons for wanting to go down this route.

If you need advice or guidance as to whether this is right for you, feel free to reach out and let’s talk!
